Teacher Standard Three:
Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
3.1 Establish challenging learning goals
Throughout my teaching I ensure students have challenging learning goals. One method I use is asking students to create a learning goal and once achieved they receive a merit.
Throughout my final placement I completed a case study on three students. This involved ensuring students had set goals and reached them. See below for attached learning goals. In this instance, P and N could not write a sentence without a scaffold, therefore writing a simple sentence was a challenge for them.

3.5 Use effective classroom communication.
As demonstrated in Standard Two, I learned a plethora of skills useful in teaching during my placement in a Special Education class. . I used multiple communication methods simultaneously such as, sign language, body language and verbal communication. I learned quickly the sign language the student used to effectively communicate inside and outside of the classroom.
